  • This privacy notice applies to the functions of Surrey Community Energy, a community benefit society which is FCA registered.

  • Personal data will be used solely for purposes relating to Surrey Community Energy marketing, volunteering and investment, or relating to specific queries as specified in your enquiry to SCE.

  • Contact details will only be used for the purpose of contacting recipients relating to Surrey Community Energy and its associated projects and initiatives.

  • Email address

  • Telephone number

  • What your interest in SCE is, including:

    • Investment 

    • Volunteering

    • Marketing

  • Any comments you have made to us during your registration with SCE

How we are allowed to use your personal data:

To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at info@surreycommunityenergy.org and we will deal with your request.

Who we share your personal data with:

Who we share your data with will depend on why you are registering with SCE.

  • If you register for our newsletter, we will not share your data further.

  • If you register to volunteer with SCE, we will not share your personal data. We may anonymise our volunteers' information to provide to Community Energy Pathways so that we can analyse representation across demographics of those involved with SCE. However, we will not share personal information without your explicit consent, for example if we are creating a testimonial or case study.

  • If you register as an investor, then you will complete a form as part of the investment process which explains what will happen to your personal data, and will require your explicit consent to share further.

Retention of data

Data will be retained for a maximum of 10 years, or as specified in any further consent requirements should you invest in an SCE share offer.
